Artisan Guitar Show 2020
I'm very pleased to have been invited to show at the 2020 ARTISAN GUITAR SHOW April 3-5 in Harrisburg, PA.
And I'm doubly pleased to have the inimitable Matt Thomas and Dustin Furlow showcase my guitars in a prime Saturday performance!
April 4, 2020
These guys are two of my favorite players around, whose albums I've been listening to for a couple of years now. It's a real honor to feature them in this way!
Check back for show times!
At the age of 33, Matt Thomas has gained some large credit in the world of fingerstyle guitar. In 2019, he won 1st place at the International Fingerstyle Collective Competition and will be going on tour in China in 2020! In 2017, he won 3rd place at the Walnut Valley International Fingerstyle Competition in Winfield Kansas. He won 1st place in both contemporary thumbpicking and open style at the Home of the Legends International Thumbpicking Competition. The following year, he returned to be inducted into the Thumbpickers Hall-of-Fame and was asked to compete again which resulted in another 1st place win in contemporary fingerstyle, and 2nd in traditional thumbpicking. Some influences are Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Jerry Reed, Buster B. Jones, Stephen Bennett, Pat Kirtley, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Django Reinhardt, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Andy Mckee, Adam Rafferty, and Tommy Emmanuel.
“Dustin Furlow quickly became a favorite of Acoustic Highway listeners. His songs reflect a deep connection between the performer and the listener - allowing for a true shared experience. Dustin is one of the emerging acoustic acts that is cementing Southeastern Virginia as a major player in Americana Music.”

Harp Guitar Gathering 2019
It was an honor to be invited by Stephen Bennet to perform at this year's Harp Guitar Gathering. And it was a special joy to be joined by my daughter, Emily, who is herself a virtuoso recorder player, and a collaborator on our album, Songs From Home. As if that plus hanging around so many great musicians and friends wasn't enough, I also presented in the luthiers forum moderated by Mike Doolin, yet another hero.
Great fun, great friends, great inspiration, great instruments and great music!
Also, My work is featured as Luthier of the Month on Gregg Miner's harpguitars.net, a treasure trove of information on this magical instrument:
SONGS FROM HOME
Featuring both steel-string Harp Guitar and Classical Guitar together with one extraordinary Recorder player, Emily O'Brien.
Released in June, 2019 by Cimirron/Rainbird Records, "SONGS FROM HOME," is an eclectic, crossover collection of Renaissance, Baroque, American Folk music and Singer-Songwriter traditions stunningly recorded by Kim Person.
